The West is burning,

fish are cooking in the streams

Looking for Answers

 Sacred Spaces

The trail is full of rocks
and the brambles
tear both skin and shirt
No one has been here
in a while except
Goat, Bear, and Pika
There is something spiritual
in this remoteness
among the wind-shaped pine
A storm growls
in the distance
and lightning sprites dance
The wind grows colder
and the mountain seems to groan
it is time to go down.

2020 the covid year

Grocery chronicles

Boomer
On a motorized
shopping cart

shouting "you are too close,"
through her mask
"I don't want to die !"

fear in her eyes
she speeds away
down the wine aisle

Grocery Chronicles

Masked marauders

pillaging the cleaning supplies

in aisle three

Little old lady swings her cane

like Tiger Woods

on the 14th tee

Woman

in a parked car

crying uncontrollably

staring at her

cell phone screen.

Having no answers

I avert my eyes

and walk by

leaving her

to her pain.

  Covid 19

strangely prepared
for the isolation of the plague
I've tried so hard  to  be seen
and I always disappear

Listening to the Thunder in the snow

  Got to hear it thunder
 last night in the snow,
 Nothing like the wild,
raw power of a tropical
deluge along the southern coast,
It was more like a Mother slapping
the back of the head
of a  misbehaving child.
Wake up pay attention
