POEM for Earth Day

EARTH DAY

On a drive out beyond
the urban sprawl, where Prairie
and barb wire dwell

A thousand pieces
of litter
blowing in the wind

Imagine this is prose
lost by some
poet laureate

haiku on the fence
Love poems tangled
in tumble weeds

Could this be
Billy Collins lost book ?

stop the car and find out
